What is a WebMoney WM-Passport

A WebMoney WM-Passport is an electronic identity verification document within WebMoney Transfer that contains personal and contact details. A higher WM-Passport level grants broader system capabilities, increases transaction limits, and enhances the trust placed in its holder.

Which WM-Passport should I get

Participants of the WebMoney Transfer system can undergo 3 identification levels. Each level corresponds to a specific WM-Passport:

Alias WM-Passport – issued automatically upon registration. Suitable for small transfers, bill payments, and online purchases. Ideal for newcomers exploring the system’s features.

Formal WM-Passport – intended for active e-payment users and freelancers. Enables deposits and withdrawals, and provides higher transaction limits.

Personal WM-Passport – recommended for businesses and advanced users who wish not only to transfer funds but also to earn money online using the full range of WebMoney Transfer services.

How much does a WM-Passport cost

The Alias WM-Passport and the Formal WM-Passport are issued free of charge.
The Personal WM-Passport is issued on a paid basis, and its price depends on the chosen Registrar.

At what age can I register with WebMoney

Registration with the WebMoney Transfer system is available from the age of 14.

To obtain a formal or personal WM-Passport, you must present your own passport or ID card. The use of documents belonging to other individuals, even close relatives, is strictly prohibited and may result in termination of service.

How to get a formal WM-Passport

A Formal WM-Passport is issued free of charge to WebMoney participants over the age of 14 after uploading a scanned copy or photo of an identity document and completing identification via VideoID.

  • Prepare your original passport or ID card, or a high-quality photo of the document.
  • Ensure good lighting and ask those around you not to disturb you — this is important for recording the VideoID.
  • Submit an application for a Formal WM-Passport and carefully follow the on-screen instructions.
  • Monitor incoming messages in WebMoney Keeper and respond promptly.
  • Wait for a notification confirming successful identification and issuance of the passport.

If your passport has not been issued within 24 hours, we recommend contacting the Verification Center to clarify the reason for the delay.

How many WMIDs can be linked to a WM-Passport

The number of additional WMIDs that can be linked to a passport depends on its type:
